A Study of Distance Between Alveolar Crest and Mental Foramen, Mandibular Canal for Insertion of Implant Fixture

Abstract
The distances between alveolar crest and mandibular canal, mental foramen are important in the implant fixture placement. Measuring of the anatomic landmarks of the mandible in the panoramic films are essential for determining the lengths of
implant
fixtures. The panoramic films were taken from them whose mandibles had been developed normally and posteriors were healthy. Those films were divided into 7 groups by the age and subdivided into small groups by sex, sides, and each tooth. : I
group(20-24years), II group(25-29years), III group(30-34years), IV group(35-39years), V group(40-44years), VI group(45-49years), VII group(over 50years) .
@ES The results were as follows.
@EN 1. The maximum and minimum distances between mental foramen and alveolar crest of mandibular 2nd premolar were 23.08¡¾1.12m, 18.25¡¾2.24mm, respectively. The distances between mandibular canal and alveolar crest were maximum 23.03¡¾2.95mm,
minimum
15.72¡¾2.73mm at mandibular 2nd premolar and maximum 25.16 1.37mm, minimum 19.73¡¾1.48mm at mandibular 1st molar and maximum 20.74¡¾2.48mm, minimum 16.10¡¾2.37mm at mandibular 2nd molar.
